2．Makers of the upcoming James Bond movie have cast little-known French actress Eva Green as the next femme to pair up with British agent 007, distributor Columbia Pictures said on Thursday.
3.The 79th Oscar nominee list was released early this morning. Chinese director Zhang Yimou's newest movie will compete for an award in the achievement in costume design category. It was not nominated for best foreign film.
4.The Oscars are given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences every year. The honors have become the world's top film awards and are coveted by filmmakers, actors and actresses around the globe.
5.Chinese director Chen Kaige's new film biography of Peking opera legend Mei Lanfang will begin shooting in Beijing and Shanghai in May. A lot of the important scenes for the movie will be shot in a replica (copy) of the old Jixiang Theatre.
6.The remake of TV series will be based entirely on the real life of Huo Yuanjia, a legendary Chinese martial arts master who challenged foreign fighters to help the Chinese people restore their pride and nationalism.
7.Chinese folk music singer Song Zhuying failed to win for Best Classical Crossover Album at the 49th Grammy Awards in the award's announcement. The award was taken by British bass-baritone Bryn Terfel for his album "Simple Life."
8.The chief producer, Han Sanping, CEO of China Film Group, said that the 75 million US dollar movie Chi Bi enjoys the highest investment of any of the 300 Chinese movies he has produced. He believes that the huge investment would bring more returns.
9.As a new director, the 28-year-old super star admitted that he felt more pressure than ever. He said that the most difficult thing for him is that time is not enough, because he has a lot to learn and to consider in a very limited time of shooting.

13.Mainland Chinese actress director Xu Jinglei recently said the shooting of her historical drama Days in the Palace would begin this year. Written by Wang Shuo, it will tell the story of Wu Zetian (624 - 705), will be played by Xu herself.
14.Chinese director Zhang Yang's latest film Going Home will be shown at the coming Berlin Film Festival as an out-of-competition film. It is about a farmer who tries to bring home the body of his friend, who died far from his village.
15.Ang Lee and three leading roles of the film Lust, Caution(Se Jie) faced the press people for the first time yesterday at the newly constructed set inside Shanghai Film Studios. The set is a replica (copy) of Shanghai's Nanjing Road during the 1940s.
16.During an interview with Chinese newspaper Nanfang Daily, Jet Li said he would no longer making any more wushu movie because, what he wanted to say about wushu through movies had all been said.
17.Last week in Beijing, John Woo said the production of The Battle of Red Cliff would begin by the end of March and would last about six months. Woo said the story was more based on the real history.
18.Chinese director Jia Zhangke's contemporary drama Still Life （San Xia Hao Ren), joined the competition when the festival has already begun, has won the Golden Lion, the top prize from the 63rd Venice International Film Festival.
19. A documentary film made in China about the children affected by AIDS won an Oscar on Sunday at the 79th Academy Awards. The filmmakers said they hope their victory will help improve Chinese children afflicted with AIDS.
